The teacher still using one of old teaching style methods and approaches one of them was GTM or Grammar Translation Method. The teacher gives some sentences to the students to be read, translate them into bahasa, explain the formula and pattern of the sentence and read the sentence together, just like that. For me as a student, that kind of method is pretty boring because it's monotonous the teacher and students do the same thing repeated over and over.
